Iain Soutar picked up the Moir Driveways Ltd Summer League Pool competition on Saturday defeating Graham Scott in the final. 21 of the 23 competitors at the start of the day all had a chance of winning by qualifying to the knockout phase. Last years champion and runner up, Ross Graham & Graham Scott, left it late however made it through the qualifying by winning all of their group games on the day.

The AGM will take place in the Golf Inn Lounge on Thursday 26th August 2010 at 8pm.

All teams must be registered prior to the AGM at 7.30pm with the following completed and enclosed:

1. Team registration form (enclosed)
2. Minimum of eight signed players
3. Season fees of £50 plus £3 for each signed player

Proposed Changes

Constitution Rules
Rule 13 – Change to £50 fees at start of season only instead of 2 x £25
Rule 14 – Pool HQ now Golf Inn

General
Knockout Cup will return to a straight knockout.
Why: Was originally introduced to help spread knowledge of the new rules. Will reduce season by around 2 weeks.

All singles, doubles and trebles entry fees will now be £2 per player
Why: May detract people from entering and not turning up. May also help funds to provide better prizes or larger venue/hire of tables for pool finals weekend.

Singles, Double and Trebles entries required within 4 weeks of season start
Why: To allow early rounds of competition to be played through the season, possibly down to last 64 singles, 32 doubles and 8 trebles. All early draws will be given a fair chance to play in time.

Introduction of a Masters Cup, over 40's, over 50's etc. instead of or additional to Captains Cup?

Finals day will be changed to a Saturday, date and venue still to be confirmed. Possibly more competitions on day like Cup finals?
